Teens whose Teachers Acknowledge when They do a Good Job: 9th, 11th Graders

This indicator shows students whose teachers notice when they are doing a good job and let them know about it.

Why is this important?

Decades of research show that students at every grade level like to be praised for their work in the classroom. Acknowledgement and praise of a job well done can reinforce beneficial skills and actions. In turn, these have a positive impact on both academic and social behavior, may help the students feel heard, and validate their hard work.
